Hamster Wheel Trailer
In these days I’m putting together an explanatory short film of my Human-Sized Hamster wheel, using all the videos I shot during the four days exhibition last November.

Browsing through the videos I found many scenes, which I won’t probably use in the final version. The following…

AM Design: Rebranding and renaming
I’m back writing on my blog (for the happiness of my 0 followers) and I’m back writing about my personal rebranding. After years wavering I arrived to a decision.
ADR turned into Adriano Mescia Design, shortened as AM design or just AM. Initials are mainstream and predictable, but they just make more sense than the first three letters of my…

(Hand)work in progress: day 5 and final show!
Yesterday I finished the wheel, just on time for the exhibition! I spent all day basically creating the reinforcement of the base which needed to be much more sturdy to support many people running. Furthermore, I had to fix the bike to the wheel, which I made in the very end thanks to the support of the technicians of the…

(Hand)work in progress: day 4
Today I finished the wheel and it work…ed. Unfortunately, the bolts on which I sticked the skateboard wheels resulted too weak as soon as I tried it a few times and they started to bend slightly, impeding any further rotation of the wheel.

(Hand)work in progress: day 3
Today I started putting the slates together and the wheel started to take its shape! The job has been easy, but quite boring. The most difficult thing was to find a good driller to screw in all those 80mm wood screws.
It rotates fine and hopefully it will hold the weight of a person, honestly I haven’t had the courage…

(Hand)work in progress: day 2
On Friday I built the base of the wheel. It took me the whole day, but in the, just 10 minutes before the 3D workshop closing time I screwed in the last bolt which completed the base.
The most difficult part has been surely cutting the aluminum pipes precisely and of the right measure, which by the way still has…

(Hand)work in progress: day 1
Today, at only 6 days from the Final Postgraduate Show I started building the wheel. I had to wait for the wood to be cut with the Waterjet, but most of all I couldn’t really start the construction before, the complete wheel would have been too big to be stored anywhere for a long period.
The first steps have been…
